Anyone Have Any Success...

...with the Spartacus Slave Revolt army against their Roman foes? If so what did you do specifically to win? I'm finding this army a hard boat to row, and figure unless you have favorable terrain on your side, you're pretty well done. Tips?
Cheers

Thanks Richard, interesting thread. As much as I expected... look for good terrain. Too bad on random maps there isn't a Vesuvius volcano to hole up on...
Cheers

I've done it once or twice in medium sized battles but not consistently. Definitely, it is tough if the terrain isn't in your favor. The tips in that steam community thread are good ones. I think if I'm remembering correctly that the slaves get a decent amount of lower quality fodder units so in the battles that I won typically some of them have managed to go around the sides and flank engaged Roman units. Easier said then done though. Haven't tried it in a PBEM game yet.....I imagine that would be harder since it would be a human opponent.

I've played many PBEM games as slaves and lost all of them but one, although a few of the others were quite close. The game which I won turned out to be less about terrain than the Roman player bulling ahead and exposing his flanks.
