In the the non DLC campaign from 39-45, if you want to get to Sea Lion 41, do you need decisive victories in both the Low Countries and France? I can see the in the campaign tree both the Low Countries and France have an "*" symbol but I can not find an explanation as to what the * means.
Just for a change of pace, I'm playing the campaign on FM and I believe the if I knock the Brits out in 41, I can dance with the Russians till Moscow 43 to gain experience and then on to the USA.]

I am using these campaign trees:

... and yes, I think you need to take the left path (i.e. DVs in LC and France) until DV in Moscow 43...

Yes, you need DVs in both to get to Sea Lion 40. The two France scenarios are not different, they just read a different line of the campaign file at the end of the scenario which determines what end briefing you see, what scenario you play next, and how much prestige you get. With a DV in the Low Countries you go to the France* line of the file where a DV takes you to Sea Lion 40 whereas a MV sends you to Greece. If you get a MV in Low Countries, you go to the plain (no asterisk) France line of the campaign file which takes you to Greece with either a DV or MV. Also, a DV on France* gives 1280 prestige whereas you only get 440 from France (assuming no softcap issues or you aren't playing at a reduced prestige accrual rate).
