Contact McAfee tech support, the false positive message is very annoying, they are the only ones who can help you making sure McAfee does not block the launcher.

I had it myself with Bitdefender last year, a few updates later it was solved luckily.

Cheers,

Typically...a simple update of their virus signatures is what is needed, something they have to fix. Just keep bugging them...

McAfee has a restore function which you can use to restore removed files. After you do this you'll need to uninstall the game and re-download it from Slitherine then patch up to 1.07 (this is what worked for me) Once you restore the files McAfee will no longer care about them.

Odd. It works fine for me now. Did you system restore or use the restore function that's part of the "McAfee Securitycenter" also did you manually delete the game to unistall it? I had to since Add/Remove wouldn't let me. I sent McAfee note about it but of course I've had no reply.

i used the restore fuction in security center, and to unistall i pressed start -> All programs -> Slitherine -> Commander - Europe At War -> Commander - Europe At War uninstaller

For some reason I kept getting error messages when I tried to use the uninstall function, that's why I manually deleted the files.

ah i've come with a solution, turn off the virus checker until it's started up (as only the startup file is affected)
