Getting FoG Unity to run on Linux

I understand this is not officially supported, but has anyone managed?
When I tried today, when considering buying the DLC I don't already have, it installed and ran.. but the text of all the buttons was missing.
Finding something running Windows, I can see what the text is
and it works, but looking at how much time I've spent on Windows in the past few years, I'm not sure when I would play it on that.
Am I right to think that you no longer need to download the files for the DLC and just entering the serial numbers enables them?
