Panzerfaust 30's unable to fire on tanks?

Hi all.
I have just won my second battle of the Butchers Bill (German) campaign where I had to face off an all tank (Cromwells + 1 Sherman) force. There was a single exit from my starting positions that was a real kill box.
So I managed to harass the tanks with small arms fire in order to draw them closer to my Panzerjager troops equipped with Panzerfaust 30's hidden in the hedgerows.
When I got them in ambush rage I tried to fire but every team kept saying we cant damage that?
Am I doing something wrong?
I managed to get a total victory but had to charge the few tanks I had through the hedgerows under heavy smoke cover.
