Support shooting casualties and Cohesion Test

Do support shooting casualties count as shooting or close combat casualties when it comes to the impact phase cohesion test?

So as an example - 4 cavalry charge a large unit of bowmen, both in 2 ranks:
cavalry throw 4 dice and cause 2 casualties
Shooters shoot 4 bases (icluding an overlap of 1 on either side) and cause 2 casualties.
Bowmen then throw 4 combat dice and cause 2 casualties

I assume that the cavalry loose the close combat.
Does it recieve the -1 for receiving 1 shooting casualty per 3 bases?
Does it get the -1 for at least 2 more hits received in close combat?
Do they count -1 for 2 reasons to test (1HP2B shooting and 1HP3B close combat?

I am sorry if it is clarified somewhere - but I an new to the rules and couldn't find the answer.

Regards
Matt

It's a natural question. Support shooting dice are Impact combat dice that happen to use shooting POAs (p92, 134).

You don't get to shoot with overlaps in the impact. Only bases behind those fighting get to support shoot. So you would get 2 shooting dice added to the impact combat. Not a separate shooting combat. So not 2 reasons to test and no minus for 1 hit per 2 from shooting.

Makes sense- thanks

Makes sense. The rules are not 100% clear - until you know what they are trying to say!!
Thanks

Matt, they are counted as close combat casualties.

So, if you charge me and do two hits in the impact phase and I do four hits, two of which are from support shooting:

- you don't do the test for having received 1 per 3 bases from shooting.

- I am treated as having won the impact.

You have lost the impact 4-2 so will take a cohesion test. You will have -1 for at least 1 hit per three bases and also -1 for losing heavily.
