Import from Sandstorm "broken"

Well not broken in the literal sense, but compared to import from Panzer Krieg it sucks.
You get only 6 heroes (the german ones), no Italian units or heroes and no Waffen SS.
At least you should get the Waffen SS specs and some Waffen SS prestige and the option to convert Italian units to german ones. Shouldn´t be hard.
But what would be really awesome was if you got Italian units and heroes within the limits of the Waffen SS spec (and then maybe no option to choose the Waffen SS spec). If the idea is that Rommel and his troops from Africa are transferred to the eastern front, then its not that far fetched that he could´ve brought a small (within comparable limits of the Waffen SS spec) loyal band of Italians with him. This would do wonders for the fun, diversity and replayability of Endsieg.

It's quite logical for me.
There are no Italian units and commanders because Italy capitulated in September 1943 (there was the Italian Social Republic on Axis side), besides Italian units were withdrawn from the Eastern Front in 1943, there is no Waffen SS because there is no such specialization in Sandstorm.

It's technically WAD - I can see the point that some would prefer another setup, but we decided to have ES starting with the basic assumption that things are still historical in the beginning.
If you import a Blitz core you get also less commanders than with a core from PK, and even less when playing with the pre-set core.
edit: to be clear - this goes for commanders at *start*. If you start with Sandstorm guys you should be able to unlock Blitz/PK guys during the cam, and vice versa, or both when using a pre-set core.
Would you be able to attach the core from Sandstorm you are using? As said tech-wise it's fine, but I'd like to look at the specs you're having at this point.

Kondi´s remark is neither here nor there. Rommel wasn´t transferred to the eastern front and I also like some historical flexibility in the game. Otherwise I could read a book or watch a documentary. But this has been touched upon by many and wasn´t the goal of my post.
But it makes it a useless import opportunity for me which could have been tackled really awesome. I like continuation in my games, as we had in PC. I think most do.
Maybe something to consider for a future patch. I think it could really offer quite a bit diversity and replayablity.
I still look forward to playing the DLC, I just won´t be coming from Africa unfortunately.

My core from sandstorm is around 50% high xp German units and 50 % high xp Italian unit and it is diverse to the point where only my 50 % german units makes little sense.

You see, my expectations in relation to this game are absolutely opposite to your expectations
I expect a simulator, not another Panzercorps
(The thing is that you are not alone - there are different players, they have different proposals and expectations.

PS. Oh, to make it clear, I think that there should be
no connection between Sandstorm and Endsieg, that's pointless ...

So having just downloaded Endsieg and proceeded to first scenario just where in the heck do you find the option to load core forces from either Sandstorm or Panzerkreig?

First, you must save your core during BK, PK or Sandstorm... and then, when you start ES, the message about core's import should appears.

I figured that you dont support a connection between Sandstorm and Endsieg, but since it is there why not make it as good as possible or at least a match for those who comes from Panzerkrieg and like continuation. It shouldn´t be too hard and could do wonders.
History zealots could just ignore it.

Thank you very much appreciated. Guess it will mean going back and playing again. Such a shame.

I am playing Endsieg with my Afrika Korps group because it was the last campaign I played. Early issues I had to deal with were too few fighters and artillery, as I had good Italian units there and of course, no SS. I had to slowly build up my SS as their CPs are useful. I did like getting to keep my heroes though. I just wish my Stug IIIs from Sandstorm could be “converted” to anti-tanks as that is what they are, not tanks!

That's why I never buy those early B/D/E pieces in vanilla. The supplementary arty setup just does not make up for the lack of, well, everything else.
But the "F" version's already available in Sandstorm, too. I got my first at BuqBuq.
