Break or Evade?

Is there any sort of rule of thumb or a method of predicting whether a fragmented unit will break or evade when charged? Too often, I am charging fragmented units and seeing them evade away...

It's a die roll, though I forget the base cohesion odds (which will be different for troops of different qualities anyway). It's always a bit of a risk charging at fragmented cavalry in the hopes it will break, as they may evade and you may end up in a position you didn't want to be in.
You could, if you were feeling crafty, place an expendable unit of your fragmented troops in sight of the enemy cavalry. If the horsemen are busy gallivanting after units that are already beaten, they aren't focussing on the parts of your line you actually care about...

So basically, it is just a percentage chance and I assume a higher chance to evade with higher morale. I have had a few recent incidents in which I was burned when a unit evaded instead of the expected easy break. Thanks!
