Campaign Editor - delete branch bug

Deleting a branch actually deletes a different branch than the one you selected.
This is a bad one.
Note that 'Brest-Litowsk' gets deleted rather than Channle/Belgrade. The editor picks a random branch to delete.

And if you are particularly lucky you may end with this after deleting a single branch.

Yes, that is what I need to do. Then clean up the branches when this bug is fixed, hopefully when v7 is released.
I think I have reported this issue earlier.
I wish the devs would acknowledge having read posts like this and answer something like 'We've put it on our to-do list.'
A simple thing like that would put my mind at ease. I have put quite a few hours into this game
The total silence is not a good way to communicate with the users.

If all fails, pick the old data.cmp file and edit as much as possible there. The game can still convert these automatically to campaign.cmz. The cosmetic stuff can be added by editor afterwards.

I hear you, Erik. I had arrived at these thoughts a while back, as you know, but now I have moved beyond them and accepted things as they are. If TA dried up and disappeared tomorrow, if they have not already, I would have a decent game with much valuable DLC to work on and enhance, so I am happy. I regret, though, how much better this game would have been in the hands of more dynamic developers. Or, to be more accurate, a more dynamic developer.

You know, it could happen. The reason I am saying this is due to a similar experience that I am witnessing elsewhere.
The developer of Front Office (American) Football has long been criticized for not updating his game regularly and for having a clunky user interface despite the fact that the game itself was well-designed. In the beginning.
Out of the Park Developments, which makes Out of the Park Baseball (which is really "out of the park" successful in all facets of the game and its business) never had a foothold in football. Lo and behold, they now have plans for a merger in which OOTPD will acquire the game, modernize and improve it, and run the business well, while the FOF guy still has input in creative design (and profits, of course).
I would welcome similar news concerning Flashback Games and The Artistocrats.

Seriously...reading the new dev diary #5, this game begins to look like an OoB upgrade.
And there I'll finally get the rail guns I've always wanted!

When all is said and done, I still prefer OOB graphics. That pic is better than Dev Diary #1, say, but still far short of OOB standards.
Well, back to Erik's dilemma, and that of anybody else who makes the mistake of deleting things in OOB editors. Lesson learned over the years: Don't delete Alliances or AI Teams, either. Just leave 'em be and erase their labels or call them "Placeholders." Thanks for adding this Campaign Branch tidbit to the list, Erik.
Here's a clue, in case someone in authority does read this thread: The problem may be related to some upper threshold of branches in the campaign. The reason I am saying this is because I tested the delete branch function in their Boot Camp (six branches, including victory and defeat) and your New Guinea campaign (five branches, including victory and defeat. Flawless execution in multiple tests of each.

The maximum number of selectable scenarios in Settings -> Branches is 80, but you need a high-res monitor to actually see all the scenarios.

I'm not sure what you are showing me here but I wouldn't complicate the issue with this. The "delete branch bug" is not about the number of scenarios, I don't think, but about the number of branches if my small experiment above is an indication. [I misspoke in that post; I have corrected it by substituting "branches" for "scenarios."]

I remember that Erik mentioned this limit long time ago, and I don't really expect any "improvement" on this, hence also my suggestion to split the GGC, besides getting some balance back by lowering unit-xp on each new branch/DLC.
At least a simple side-scroller could be helpful for the screen there.

Yes, but to keep the focus where it belongs, it appears that the problem may be associated with too many branches, not too many scenarios. Although your point is well-taken; the more complexity, the more opportunity for error.
