Interception Question

Last night, we had a couple of questions arise with interception. A player declared a charge on LF with a unit of LH. The other player declared an interception charge with a unit of EL. The LH player felt that he should be able to evade since the rules state that an interception charge cancels the original charge. Is this correct?

In the above case, the EL unit was 3 MU away and was able to make contact. If the EL unit was more than 4 MU away but able to block the charge path of the LH, would the LH contact the EL or would it stop 1" away from the EL?

TIA,
Dannie

From the FAQ http://www.fieldofglory.com/file/FAQ_ver5.01.pdf
What happens if charging skirmishers are themselves intercepted by non-skirmishers, can they evade?
An interception or evade is a response to a charge. It is not a response to an intercept charge. Troops therefore cannot
evade from interceptors. They cannot halt 1 MU away from the interceptors either.
Rationale: Once skirmishers are committed to an all out charge they are committed.
