Aggressors - v1.02.1 is out, now with full UI scaling!

We just released an update for Aggressors, bringing the game to version 1.02.1. It is a big one, and it's been in testing for a week to make sure everything works as intended.

Among many bug fixes and balance improvements, we're pleased to announce that the game now fully supports UI scaling. We know that some players couldn't play the game properly on a 4k screen, so we made it our priority to address that issue.

We really aim at improving Aggressors and to keep making it a better game. We just started our work on it, and now the team can start working on their next updates. It is important for us to hear your feedback and any criticism you might have, so we can make Aggressors the bext 4x game you can play.

Changelog:

Game core

• Autoheal is 2x faster (health increase is higher) when unit is located in it's production building
(military unit in city, cavalry in stable, vessel in shipyard).
• Rules for desertion improved (it takes much more different aspects to the consideration of
potential desertion - power of enemy, friendly units around, etc).
• Recover is now calculated out of model defense and power, not current.


UI

• Statistics about opponent in political map added to the banner tooltip.
• Improved highlight of supplied and nonsupplied areas for selected unit.
• History replay lagging fixed.
• "Simple greeting sounds" option implemented (instead of listening "YES" or "What" you can hear just simple "click").
• Autosave at the end of the turn is configurable.
• Added damage indicator to the unit selector and map item detail window.
• Default fog density lowered.
• Tooltip of local happiness on hovered tile added.
• In editor you can move units even when it is out of movement points already.
• UI fully supports scaling[/b] 50%-200%.


Data

• Number of people working in mines decreased.

Modding

• Msgs.cs file (with modded unit actions) was not loading correctly.

Bugs

• Spacebar was not working during enemy moves to skip currently animated player's moves.
• Weird trade offer was not giving player choice to answer.
• Shield denoting stacked units was disappearing.
• Capital lost window title corrected.
• Few rarely happening CTDs fixed.
• State menu was not flashing (in tutorial) when player was reading about it.
• In generated maps, the first city always had the same first suggested name.
• Issue with pressing Esc when autosaving at the end of turn and after AI moves (main menu was appearing but it shouldn't).
• Editor - Unit properties window had an issue with number of defences for current turn.
• When exporting scenario, it was incorrectly exporting also game resources (this should be only in mod file).
• Number of other small bugs fixed.
• Error handling window improvements.

I downloaded the Patch Update, then started the Game. As soon as the Aggressor's Game was up and ready to go...I immediately went to the Game Settings tab & set the UI to 200% just to see what would happen.

At this point now that the setting was changed, I was unable to access the Save button to save the change,...because now the center area of the listings was too large for my screen. I had no-way to change it back, if the Save Tab were located uptop instead, it would have been no problem to undo the damage.

So, I deleted the Game, reinstalled it again hoping that I could start all over again. Not-So!...the settings I had previously input were still there???. Why is that???.

Is there any way to fix this?.

I am not at my computer for a few days, so this is from memory. Find where your 'saves' are & there is a 'preference' file you can edit. Can't remember if it is via Documents/MyGames or users/AppData, sorry. I think this will solve your problem.

please find file initialSettings.config at C:\ProgramData\Kubat Software\Aggressors Ancient Rome\ and delete it.

pavelk!, I did "just-so" as per your instructions.

Again...I started the Agressor's Game, however the Numerical percentage indicator at the bottom of the initial screen was displaying large-sized numbers.(not a good sign). After the Agressor's Game was loaded-up, the Main-Menu pop-up was displayed...in an enlarged display at 200%.

?...Might it be possible to have a download with an 'instruction' that could be re-inserted at the..."initialSettings.config " to correct this issue?.

Thank's anyway 'pavelk' for making your effort!.

I will await further instructions!.

Oh!, by the way, I almost forgot...
Again!, I must do the 'Check for Update' routine with or without the internet being on. I don't understand why this has reverted from the fix that the Patch was supposed to have remedied?.

So far there was no fix of this (as far as I know). It was just for testing purposes to turn off internet connection

Hello pavelk!, I mentioned in my first post something to the effect that... (I had no way to change it back), meaning that...I had no-access to the UIScaling. I did want to do just as you are explaining in your reply post but, I guess that the displayed page only went so far down and no further to the place where I could effect the change.

So!, at this point I'm still up the creek. There must be solution somewhere???. Anyway, i'll keep checking back to see if any new development comes my way.

maybe I misunderstood or you did, I am not sure. There is a file initialSettings.config here C:\ProgramData\Kubat Software\Aggressors Ancient Rome\ where is saved your UI scaling. You either try to delete that file or open it change the value of uiScale to lower value.
This is the only place where the UIscale is "saved". If you dont have the file there at all, please start the game and again quit it and send me aggressors.log (in the very same folder) to my email address info@kubat-software.com.

I did delete that file. As the screen was way-oversize my ability to scroll down to where I would have been able to save the change in order to make the change was restricted, I could easily make the slider adjustment and for example reset the UI Scaling to 100%. but was then unable to save the change to put it into effect as I could only scroll so far down and no farther...and so was unable to change anything.

In any case I will try to proceed with the follow-up instructions. Unless I misunderstand...I will send you what I think you want, and that is the...Aggressors.exe.config file!.

I actually need your Aggressors.log file which should be here C:\ProgramData\Kubat Software\Aggressors Ancient Rome\
