Visibility of enemy units

Something I wonder about. As the other nations process and then show their moves, I can see enemy units intruding on my nation. I even get a notification about the invasion. But once it is my turn, I can no longer see what these units are.
Not knowing the enemy military icons yet, I feel at a disadvantage, not knowing just how powerful an invasion this is.
Is this a design decision?

Hi Beorn,
they are hidden in the fog of war. Once you get closer you will see those units again. This is standard FoW behavior as far as I know?

You have to have your own military units within range to be able to see the enemy. You got the initial notification of the invasion, but now you have to move forces near the invading forces to get a good look at them.
Cavalry are good for scouting like that. Or positioning a force on a hill - that increases visual range.

Makes sense, so the only inconsistency is that you see them during their move I guess. But I suppose it would be awkward not to even have that.

If you swtich on the "confirm end turn" option, you can look for the last time at the visibility of the ending turn. Once you look, the new visibility is applied and you will not see them anymore because of FoW.
