Hi,
I actually do miss some detailed information about the internal algorithms. for FOG 1 there was a manual, where all calculations and odds were explained ind huge detail. In this game, I have no idea about:
- what is the chance to hit
- how many attacks does unit have
- what is the odd for cohesion checks
- how much damage does a unit
etc etc.

There is a manual. It doesn't have quite that level of detail but I think (having never played FoG1) that the mechanics are sufficiently different and sufficiently context dependent that some of the information you're asking for wouldn't be meaningful in the abstract. But he manual does include things like the PoA modifiers for keywords, how unit strength (i.e. fighting power) is worked out, odds and modifiers for cohesion checks, etc. You can also set the options to show detailed tooltip information that shows a bit more information about units in combat (i.e shows where they're getting their PoA from so you can see why a unit has an advantage/disadvantage).
EDIT: Oh, yes, the manual! If you have your version on Steam, go to your library page, right click on the game and select "View Player Manual".

Turn on in-game detailed tool tips and combat reports. That will explain almost everything.
