Are there too many " fantastic" Roman games on the

Dear All,
Today we band words about like they are going out of fashion. Fantastic, superbe, out of this world, mental, exceptional and well good being the latest to describe sometimes the ordinary or even quite good. What springs to mind immediately is RTW v Arena. The one is the greatest game ever as though none other will ever take its place yet built to a standard that ordinary guys had to make modifications for it enough to satisfy the claim, and the other quite different apart from the Roman title that has not received the plaudits it deserves. Even with my own criticism, I find Arena, although for me quite frustrating, a very good game. The colours of the figures while more pastelly than RTW are still on a par in movement and looks and certainly don't have the many bugs associated with that game. Both can and have cornered this man's time just as Legion, CoW, Spartan and Troy have done and this because of the content and enjoyment more than the claims made for them. In fact I don't play RTW any more as the mods RTR and EB are far superior and show that there is a demand and hunger for all things good about Rome. Arena is new to the Rome gamers and must be understood to be such so trying to compare it with RTW is silly. I just wish that Iain would give serious consideration to turning Arena into what RTW should have been but can now not aspire to.
Yours,
Ross.

We're always looking for new ideas, though to be honest we have more than we have time to work on so have to pick and choose what to do. Right now there are 2-3 major new projects we could undertake and we have to decide which one gets our full attention.

I presume you have already considered Alexander's campaigns. The potential for multiple units, senarios is enormous. A combination of the Legion Arena approach, and an empire building strategy (as Spartan, CoW, etc) would be great. The option to do what Alexander didn't, i.e. conquer India would make it more interesting.
