Can't Start Game

Hello, I'm currently running FOG 2 on Steam. When I try to start the program from the launcher it fails to start up and I get these 2 messages
Error
Failed to create device for Rendering. Invalid Resolution, or cannot run without at least shader model 3.0
After closing that message I get this following message
***Unhandled Exception! Exp Code 0x80000003 ExpFlags:
0 ExpAddress: 0x005095AD Please Report!
I tried Changing Resolution, checked for all updates for Windows and Graphics and other drivers. Including verifying Integrity of game cache on Steam.
I tried sending the DX diag file but the messaging system wont let me. It keeps stating invalid file extension both for .txt and xml. I tried sending it as a Zip file. I also sent an email to Slitherine support in case it didn't go through>
I'm also having issues running Sengoku Jidai as well. Except there is no message just a blank sceen before CTD. Im not having any other problems with any other programs

Sorry you are having difficulties. Two things to help us track down the problem:
1) Have they been working previously, or have they never been working?
2) Could you post the error.log file that you can find in
/Documents/My Games/FieldofGlory2
You need to do this immediately after receiving the error message, because the file gets overwritten each time you start the game.
Possible solution:
One thing that often works with display resolution issues is to delete the Options.txt files.
You will find these in
/Documents/My Games/FieldofGlory2
and
/Documents/My Games/SJIDAI

Deleted the options file and still could not launch it. I then copied the error log as instructed.

Attach a DxDiag report file and the file named "OPTIONS.TXT". Attach the files don't copy and paste the text to your post.
The "OPTIONS.TXT" file can be found in your Windows documents folder "...\Documents\My Games\FieldOfGlory2".
How to get a DxDiag report file:
1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8/10 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8/10)
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
6. Attach the file to your message

The DXDiag report is in the first post I made. When I went to attachments the forum messaging software wouldn’t let me attach it as a file or founder. It wouldn’t let me drag and drop it as well. I also had the same problem on another browser. It did let me attach it as a .zip file though. I also emailed an uncompressed file to the tech support email as well.
As for the options.text file I was told to delete that as part of troubleshooting. I was also asked to send an error report after attempting to launch the program. I copied and pasted it in a post above because that is the error report in its entirety.

Yes, but as you have attempted to run the game after you have deleted it, a new "OPTIONS.TXT" should have been generated.
Can you zip and attach it?

That won’t be necessary, as I managed to fix it by myself. Apparently the problem was being caused by a new app I installed on the desktop that allowed my IPad to be used as a second screen. After uninstalling this app the problem went away and both games work as normal. The app must have been confusing the program into considering that my unplugged IPad was the primary screen. Thank you for taking the time and effort to help and support me.

Glad it is now working for you, and thank you for letting us know what the cure was. That is certainly an unusual one!

I have exactly the same problem. I have not played my FoG games for a few months, but having returned to both FoG II and Empires, neither runs and gives these messages. I have updated both games but that does not fix the problem. I have deleted the OPTIONS.TXT file and that does not help. I have also bought FoG Mediaeval and that will not start either. Suggestions welcome. I have not installed an App like this user had so that is not the problem.
