Did I get the calculations right

Being new to FoG I had one of my first games on Saturday and I just wanted to make sure I was doing the close combat calculation correctly.
My Heavily Armoured sup Knights lances were charging armoured sup CV with lance.

1.As it is in the impact phase only the bases in contact fight and because of the troop type each base gets two dice.
2. My knights get a +POA for knightly lance against mounted. The Cavalry get a +POA for lance against mounted.
3. Because both sides have +POA neither side has an advantage so you use the No POA line to calculate hits?
4. If the above details are correct them why have the knightly lance line why not just have one Lance line?

The Cav lancers do NOT get a POA (Other lancers against lancers). The 'Knightly Lancers' get a +.
Refer to page 96.
Go the Knights!

Nearly

Only bases in contact fight and you get 2 dice per base.
The knights do indeed get a POA for knightly lance.
The cavalry however don't count lance against lancers. This means that knightly lance 'trumps' normal lance.
Now the knights have a +POA so hit on 4s while the cavalry hit on 5s.
In melee things get worse for the cavalry as the knights get 2 dice per base and will probably have better armour.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. My knights did not have good day my opponent with his rerolls managed to get 8 hits on 8 dice due to my mistake that he was rolling with No POA. So in the impact phase I lost a knight base out right then failed my death roll so the Bg lost a second base and then failed its cohesion test.
