Hello,
I'm fairly new to the rules system and am looking for possible opponents in Maryland. I live north of Baltimore.

Not sure about Baltimore, but there is a pretty big FoG community in northern Virginia. Depending on how far north of B-more you live that could be a viable option.

Marc, No point in Maryland is that far from B'more; it's a tiny state the size of Belgium
New England is like that. The
states of Rhode Island & Delaware would both fit inside the
county of San Diego, with room to spare.
Maryland is, however, an extremely wealthy state, with a median income of $68,000 or roughly double that of California!

It takes between fifty minutes and two and a half hours to get from B-more to NoVa, depending on traffic. Maryland may be geographically small, but can be large in a driving sense.
Marc
OT: I grew very fond of B-more during the ten years I lived there. I was a prosecutor, and became very familiar with the whole city as a result. I recommend HBO's The Wire as the best portrayal of a city in the history of TV.

I live just south of Baltimore and looking to get started with FoG. I currently only have the rule book but plan on building an army soon. If you find any clubs in the Baltimore area please let me know.

I am Michael Guth, also a newer player. I prefer 25mm but can scrape up a 15mm WOR or Successor army if I have to. Walt Leach is a championship calibre player in Severna Park, and I believe plays almost every weekend with Kevin Swanson. Joe Walkonis is another Maryland player.. Drop me an email at
michaelguth@verizon.net if you want to play. I have odd hours, sometimes even a weekday free. I'll put you in touch with Walt and his group. Bob Nedwich is also a tournament organizer and part of that circle.

I live in Abingdon, which is northeast of Baltimore off of I-95 (Exit 77). It takes me 30 minutes (or more) to get to most places I need to go to in the city. To get to the game store in Virginia that was mentioned is under 2 hours with no traffic, and who knows how long with traffic.
powchoy: At this point, there are a couple of new players who play occasionally at Renaissance Games (
http://www.ren-games.com/). Actually, I've been trying to get them to play at least once a month and so far, it has been on a Wednesday night. The historical mini players there tend to play WW2 (Flames of War), but the owner is one of the people working on a FoG army (some sort of 15mm Roman, I think late Republic). The other fellow there has some 15mm Gauls and is working on a 15mm Teutonic knight army. If you would like to arrange some time to meet, or even to play at some other place (maybe splitting the distance) drop me a line. My email is
crandow@gmail.com.
Chris: See above for where I live and email. I sometimes make it up to Philly as well. We can try and arrange something.
Michael: With the exception of 4 stands, everything I have is 15mm. I would certainly consider putting together a 25mm army, but I would want to be sure I could play it with someone. I'll send an email directly to the address you left.
So are there any other Maryland (maybe even Delaware) players out there?

We have a big NoVa group of FoG players and should coordinate some games on each side of the Potomac. We have 15mm and 25mm.

We are beginning to play some on Wednesday nights at a game store in Fallston (
http://www.ren-games.com/), although we have discussed doing this on Thursdays.
For the Delaware folks, where in the state are you? I work up at Aberdeen and occasionally travel to UDel for business.

The Nova group has had an hour knocked off their gaming time on Wednesday nights as the store has had to adjust their hours due to the economic pinch.
Sundays we still meet at Game Parlor Chantilly from 11 am.
I would suggest contacting Dan H on here to get asn invite to our group for emails etc.
