I don't know if everyonelse feels as I do, but I think the map purses need to be increased.

The main issue is what map is what? lol. I don't have the full version yet, but I'd still like to know how to mod the demo files, since it will let me.

I'm Making A assumption here

Am I right in guessing that the Areanaside.txt file is the file that the campaigns are run from. By this I assume the campaign follows this file.

Republican 0 0 50 0 7 21 12 12 3 3 17 7 1 0 4

Wait for the patch - it will make it easier to mod files.

Ave Iain,

Have you got an approximate date for the patch?

This has been bugging me for awhile now, what does "ave" mean?

I belive an approximate translation is "hello" or "hi" (in latin). Ask the experts, though, they will know.

Thanks to everyone, I now know several file's meaning.

Arenaside txt deals army composition.

Republic means roman army. 50 means starting denarii.
Several figures means their Unit ID in squad .txt.

And, if I were to add modded units, I should start from unit ID 50.

Hello, Mago139 or magobarca from the old Legion forum here. Just wishing to say hello, and thank you to Ian at Slitherine for the birthday well wishes back in November.

This may not be the correct thread, but here goes anyway, if someone would be kind enough to inform me of a few simple matters:

1) Is the patch mentioned in this thrad by Slitherine released yet??

2) Can Legion Arena and the soon to be released Cult of Mithra be played solo off-line against me, myself, I and the AI??

3) I have the demo of LA, and from what I have read at these forums, it seems that LA can be played off-line, however, the reviews I read are sketchy on making this absoulutely clear as in either 'yes' or 'no' LA can be played off-line solo.

4) I am impressed by all of your modding efforts so far, and am a Carthaginian fanatic and would love to get those Carthaginian skins but can't find where to get them.

5) Going back to Legion Gold, can maps be modified in that to represent Middle Earth?? And you cna see where my train of thought is leading here, since Legion Gold etc. does have Shadow Knights (Nazgul), Shadow Warriors and Ghost Warriors (Army of the Dead), etc. just need some Middle Earth troop types including Orcs, 2 types of Troll, Oliphants or Mumakil (Elephants), and Wolves/Wargs and Warg Riders. I am not a Graphics person but do research and have modded the original Legion text files before but would have to relearn how to do this again. I have been working on the METW mod lately, mainly text files and building and troop unit build strings,, balancing the campaign game, etc.

Thanx in advance for any answers I recieve, and I am still reading reviews and going through the forums here for answers to my questions, Chris/magobarca

Hi, Found a review that says a person can apparently play off-line solo against just the AI.

'If you get tired of playing the AI and want more of a challenge you can take your army online. Battle here are also quick but they aren't scripted. It's like a whole new world. The single-player mode will seem like an entire tutorial. Which in a way, it is. This package comes with an e-book on Gallic wars to further immerse you in the ancient art of war.'

Hi, Magobarca. I cannot answer all of your questions, though I guess if I could be help, I should.

In solo, player fight against AI, there are 3 campaign, one of them is for tutorial. So Roman campaign(61 or around that maps)
and Celtic campaign(around 40 maps) is for playing.

As for Carthago MOD, I don't know whether it exists. To mod units status, people tweak squad txt.

To get patch 10101(the newest one), there are link in one of the thread in the LA and CoM general discussion forum.

Hi Tora--tora-tora!!!

Yes, thanx for the link to the patch. Also, thanx fortelling me how many maps and battles there are to the Roman and Gallic campaigns.

I haven't gotten the full version of Legion Arena yet but will sometme soon.

I will practice modding the demo a little bit, and I still play Legion Gold, Spartan, and GoT, and sometimes CoW, as well as MTW, Middle Earth TW, etc.

Thank you again, Magobarca
