Hi,

I received this error message when trying to install the patch. I do have FOG2 installed. What am I doing wrong? Am I supposed to move the patch to a certain folder?

it's been reported before, did you install the base game to a default location?

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately I don't understand what "default location" means. It is on my hard drive - I think where my other Slitherine games are, and I have access to it via Steam... if that helps.

the steam version updates itself, not by using the site updates

the error indicates that your maybe using the wrong patch for the wrong version, as you can't update the steam version from the downloaded update from the forums / site etc, as it's not supported, steam has it's own way of updating steam games, the easiest way of updating, if it's not done it already, which is should have tbh is, then do this,

Verify Integrity of Game Files

if the game in question hasn't updated on a steam restart, the process mentioned above removes the download cache of steam, so will auto log you out of steam and make you re log back in, so make sure you have your user name and password for steam handy

I have been getting the same error message about not detecting FOG II when I try to install the Rise of Persia DLC. I should note that I purchased the base game FOG II from Steam and Rise of Persia from Matrix Games, if that changes anything.

I tried the steps outlined above, and before I found this post, I uninstalled and reinstalled FOG II, but I still get the same message. Is there anything else I can try?

You can't install the Matrix version of the DLC to work with the STEAM version of the game, as they install in entirely different locations.

However, as far I know you can use your Matrix Rise of Persia serial key to redeem the STEAM version. The serial keys are the same for Matrix and STEAM versions.

Every time I try to get to the DLC in the game, it redirects me to the Steam site to purchase it again. I realize this seems to be more of a Steam question but maybe I'm missing where you can enter the serial key.

I have this message (Setup has detected that you do not have FOG II installed) when I try to install a slitherine DLC (Immortal Fire) over my GoG FOG II install.
Is there a solution ?

they will explain how to as you have the GOG base game, please contact them and they will help you with this

If you have GoG version you've to purchase the DLCs in GoG store.
