Tigers, Panthers, and armored ATG's can smash the Russians on the rivers, but if you lose a city hex it is better to retreat to a new position instead of trying to attack a SMG infantry in the city. Abandon the western airfield and all the aux units as delay fodder. You'll have plenty of time to retake cities when the Russians are gone.
