10mm figures

Hello All,

I've bought myself a batch of 10mm AIM figures.

For their size they are very nice.

I've even based up a few Light Horse and they look absolutely fantastic. Better than anything 15mm IMHO. To me they look like they are 'doing their thing'. You can position the figures better to be able to give you a more of a diorama/unit feel.

I've based them for 15mm and I don't think any of my friends I play with would have too much of a problem playing against them, but I'm wondering how people would feel about being in a competition against someone with diminutive figures (compared to yours).

What's the feeling out there?

Ian

I've seen 10mm figs used in 15mm comps before with no problems.

I have played several games with 15 aginst 10's you realy don't notice the differance there are several 10mm armies in our group infact i would say they are becoming the majority here in Austin. they do look good but i simply have to much 15mm lead to change

I have a fair number of 10mm (Chariot by Magister Militum), very nice figures and I'm currently getting close to a full numidian army of them. I tend to play against other 10mm armies rather than 15s. I do use more troops per base as otherwise bases look a bit sparse:

certainly the overall effect is much more like a "decent" block of troops rather than a playing piece

Hi Phil,

Yes, I agree that you have to change things somewhat, but what I've changed is the WAY I base the figures. I still use two figures per base for Lighthorse for example, but I've based them so that they look more like they are skirmishing. As I'll be using them solely for FoG I intend to make up BG's that look right, with a border of terrain around the BG. I'll post pictures once I've finished them (this will take a while, I'm the worlds slowest painter.
