My machine gun nest got pressed into the sea. Have you ever seen this before? Lol.
I've seen it a few times where a unit can retreat into shallow sea even when it didn't have enough to walk in unaided.
Or maybe they forgot to check the tide tables and got stranded when the tide came in - Normandy beaches have quite a large todal range which can catch people by surprise.
