Shot at by firearms and cohesion tests

The modifiers for the cohesion test state that testers are at -1 if shot at by firearms. In the case when a target is shot at by a BG with firearms and another BG (with for example crossbows), do the firearms actually need to score any hits to force the -1 modifiers, or is it enough that the target was "shot at" by firearms.
In other words, if the crossbows cause enough hits to force a cohesion test is the -1 for "being shot at" by firearms in effect regarless whether the firearms actually scored any hits on the target?
Cheers,
-Fredrik

There is no need for the Firearms to score a hit - the fact they are shooting is enough to gibe the -1.

No, being shot at is sufficient

which makes them *a lot* of fun.
i.e. "there! 4 hits from my longbows, so you have -2 on the cohesion for hits/number of, AND -1 for those LF who merely pointed a useless firearm in your general direction..."

I may be being dim on a Friday morning, but how do you get the -2 for hits/number?

Probably by misusing commas I suspect?. A total of -2, -1 from one hit per two bases and another -1 from the hand guns.

by confusing combat and shooting hits!

Many thanks for clearing this up for me. Woe to those unable to take firearms in their lists then I suppose.

Problem is, you still gotta cause the test.
