why do they run into their own mines wouldn't they know they were there? shouldn't they show instead of being hidden. ? the bridge was mined but in German territory you don't know they are there till the infantry runs into it.

I think this depends on wether the designer adds the mines using the neutral faction or the '\mine-owning faction.

On a similar note, there were a discussion a long time ago about (enemy) mines staying visible after being discovered the first time.
I don't know if this is still an issue.
