Since I am finishing my Punic War armies I like Corvus Belli for 15mm Spanish, Carthaginians and Gauls. Nice models.

I've been very happy with the Black Hat figures I got from scalecreep. The Mongols are amazing

My favorites are the 'large 15mm' minis from Testudo (currently off the market) for Gauls and Late Republican Romans, with Xyston's Hellenistic ranges coming in a close second.

Cheers,
Scott

Currently Xyston and Khurasan, but from the few I have, Mirliton look good. Also Splintered Light minis look very good though I haven't currently got any. Legio Heroica also look worth checking out.

The Splinterd Light minis do look quite tempting. If they ever make some Early German figures, I would definitely have to pick some up.

Thanks :)

Alain Touller does a nice early to middle medieval range although for HYW I really like Corvus Belli. All 15mm.

For me, getting the minies bought, painted and on the tabletop, then the wargaming started is the important part. I don't need miniature works of art/sculpture. I can't paint to a pro level.

That said.....I prefer Old Glory for rank and file. My favorite period would be from the Fall of Rome into the Dark Ages. I don't really favor just one army. My regular opponents and I prefer....well...."redoing history". We don't refight historical battles.

For now, we are working our way through the supplimental books for FoG. We are using the starter armies listed in the suppliments. We have been doing The Swords and Scimitars suppliment for about 5 weeks now.

Magister Militum 10mm.

Though for my HYW English I'm using Old Glory 10mm and Pendraken 10mm... they've got good coverage for the Middle Ages and they're pretty cheap.
