No. The physical edition doesn't contain a printed manual, soft or hardcover.

Most probably PDF form.

The PDF manual is pretty worthless not containing the usual how to play information. There is game information you can access from the menu and some tutorials you can access. However to be honest you kind of have to learn by playing trial and error but it is doable. I found that you try a scenario and may have to do it a few times to figure it out.

I never played the board game it is based on so I have no idea if that would help or not.

Thanks for the info, information on the this game is incredibly vague. My friend who I intended to play with has played the boardgame, so he at least he can help me out *IF* I/we buy it. That's a pretty big if ATM though.
