Hi,

Some users have been unable to play the game since the 5.2.9 update due to DX9 deprecation. We've rolled back our engine to fix this and have created an Open Beta on Steam for testing. If this is successful then we'll release a universal Windows patch asap.

To opt into the beta, right click on the game in your Steam library and select Properties.

Then click the Betas tab and select the "beta - Open Beta" from the drop down list. Steam should then automatically Sync the files for you.

To opt out again, do the same except select the opt out option.

There's no gameplay affecting changes in this release, but it should fix the issue with DX9 and the underwater hex grid lines.

Sadly not, still working on that

In british roster with 5.3.0 appear new infantry units witout names but with new helmets (2 soldiers over 3)... we can expect this will be available in sandstorm? Maybe theyre same élite units like desert rats?

From time to time new units may leak into a beta. So this is probably something meant for Sandstorm.

@Shards, all: Is this still live? Or has it gone final? I'm really sorry, havent had any time to test anything or play OoB. Maybe this weekend.
