saw an interesting documentary on Tobruk (spelling) and how the Aussies made a difference there - from my recollection it was the first time the Germans were stopped. But then it went back and forth for awhile. Then later on the the sissy American tanks had to have a new tank then they came up with the Lee Tank Which finally had a decent tank gun on a tank the a 75mm gun - problem was it was no on the turret but mounted in the hull so the entire tank had to turn in order to line up the 75mm gun unless it only had to move a smidge right or left. We either did not have the technology or the tooling to crank out 75 mm guns on a turret fast enough or maybe haven't even figure out how to handle that size of a gun that could be moved on a turret. Thats what happens when a country like Germany starts acting aggressive towards other nations - annexing this invading that and then you are the leaders of your country and you stick your head in the sand. No biggie just send in the boys with obsolete tanks and get em slaughtered.
