I can no longer launch the game. I have bought it on steam and all the dlc. When I click Play on steam, the OoB gamemenu pops up and when I click Play order of battle, the OoB gamemenu goes down then immediately up again but the game doenst lauch at all. I am very upset about this. I have Windows XP and DirectX9 and everything worked fine till the last update. Need help please.

I'm sorry but with the last Unity update (the engine under which the game is build), the engine won't work with DirectX9.
We are trying to look for a solution.

Hope you will find one quickly, I was in the middle of the Panzerkrieg campaign and its not funny to not be able to play.

Another option you should consider is upgrading to Win10. Win XP is no longer supported by Microsoft and you will have gaping holes in security, drivers and so on. This will not go away.

I'm experiencing a few glitches too and I don't know if 5.2.9 is to blame, but as a matter of interest I suppose we could always uninstall OOB and re-install the vanilla pre-5.2.9 version couldn't we?
PS- in my 35 years of computer gaming I've often found that new updates to many games usually bring a bunch of new problems, one of the worst offenders is Armed Assault where the devs are continually bringing out new updates, tweaks and so-called "improvements" with the result that the game is now seriously botched and everybody is complaining like crazy; for example the Blackfish VTOL is now unflyable and the AT/AA launcher lockon routines are a mess.
Also, all the many community-written Armed Assault tutorials and youtube vids (including mine) are now not worth a spit because they only cover the earlier versions of the game.
So my advice to devs everywhere is to only do odd minor tweaks and fixes once in a blue moon and not to do massive new updates.
If they feel a massive new update is in order, it'd be best to simply bring out an entirely new game like Slitherine's Panzer Corps devs are planning to do, (working title Panzer Corps 2)..

This is the best option as XP is old now and won't support most of the 64 bit games. Or buy a new PC with 10 already installed.

We hope to be able to roll back to a previous engine version so that XP users can also play the game.

Why would you do that? Spend all that time and money to get the game to play on an outdated OS? There has been so many problems the last couple of months that I hate to see any more. I'll bet if you took a poll on what OS people are using? You wouldn't find many XP users. I've seen one on here and one on Matrix. I like the engine version you're running now. Seems like a step backwards to me.
It's time to update your OS to the most modern. Take a poll of users and I'll bet I',m right about that.
Please don't mess with the game anymore. It's just now working right! Thank you.

Incidentally a very bad habit of many devs in the PC wargaming world is that they seem so obsessed with bringing out new updates and addons and DLC's etc that they ignore longstanding issues that they should have fixed long ago, the Armed Assault people are among the worst offenders in that respect.
Personally I'd like to see one glaring omission in OOB addressed pronto, namely the Brit Cromwell tank needs to be included in the game so that we can build West Front 1944-45 scens in the editor.

Yes, the wishlist is getting longer, mine too. However, this is a small team supplying a niche market. And there are complications in software design I and most of you know nothing about because we dont sit on the dev's lap all day long. (I repeat this again because it is the truth.)
All will be fixed in due time, the next DLC will be awesome, Panzerkrieg rules. Let's have fun.

As an ex-dev and playtester myself (on the payroll of Cases Computer Simulations in the 1980's) we were a great team, so I'm happy to give the Slitherine bosses and OOB devs all the help and suggestions I can, and if I had to narrow it down to just one suggestion I'd say "Get a West Front 1944-45 DLC on the market as your top priority, there are thousands of potential customers out there eager to give you their cash and make you millionnaires"..

Well, next beta is always around the corner. The more the merrier. Just watch these forums.

(I doubt the millionaire thing, though.)
