OK, probably dumb newbie question:

I'm used to using cavalry in Civil War games for scouting, cutting supply lines; things like that.

Obviously that's not part of this game, so I'm wondering what you *do* use them for? I'm unclear how the sweeping mechanic works, and outside of that, they seem like a fast moving force you can't use much.

I haven't found any outside info on them, so anyone with some tips?

welcome to the forum, i use them for fast infantry, as in the end, they get there fast then end up just being used as line for me, just hold spaces until the full inf unit arrive, then again i don't play like everyone so could be wrong also

They are highway toll, screen to give time for your infantry to take better places.
