Unit Bugs v5.2.9

The dreaded topic is back for v5.2.9! :twisted:

At first, it is good to see the many Threaded unit traits turned into Treaded, next to other fixes like the important ground-fuel values!
Now back to the uglies:

I was happy at first to see new British paratroopers in the units.csv file, but they all miss a unit picture in the game. Providing half-baked new units isn’t nice! :(
They were also given german_truck and sdkfz_251 as supported transport, but who cares without a working unit picture (hello copy & paste mistake!).

The neglected child: SU-152_ART
Different cost and supply compared to the AT-variant but also the wrong chassis type: tow

I still don’t get it why Brit commando units cost only 1 supply compared to other nations’ commando units, but I guess it’s a feature with their special transports. Not really fair to other nations!

Air/naval defense values of many infantry units are still messed up, for example:
japanese_commandos: air 18, nav 18
us_commandos: air 14, nav 18
british_commandos: air 16, nav 13
australian_commandos: air 18, nav 13
british_heavyinfantry: air 16
german_infantry_40/41/44: air 16
german_engineers: air 16
There are plenty more differences to spot. Let’s see if you find them all! :P

And I hoped for less work to mod my mod after the patch. I'll better stop reading and writing and start playing again... :lol:

At least the cost of the German SU-122 is the same for both modes.
I also see different air defense values for AT and ART for the SU-122 of both nations.
Close by, the SU-76 in AT mode has air def 10 while 13 in ART mode.

I don't play with vanilla (stats), so there are possibly more air/naval defense differences there, not only for infantry units like I already noticed above.
I can only recommend creating (better) formulas for such stats in spreadsheets to avoid inconsistencies.

Your image inspires me two reflections:
- the soviet tank with the summer forest skin is the OT-130 :

- The presence of troops of the kriegsmarine is strange
A Luftwaffe Faction could be better. It could be usefull in many battles and in the Battle of Britain Mod.
In the Demyansk Pocket, there was the 21e Luftwaffen-Felddivision .

It almost looks good with some bushes as camo on tanks.
There are more land units missing an overlay effect or it is not showing fine on forests and other terrain-objects:

I checked all land units and even the aircraft for this overlay-bug, but no infantry.
I remember this bug from the past with few planes but these were possibly fixed over the years. No idea, maybe we didn't really pay that much attention. Moving vehicles and towed guns through forests and jungles is a normally a bad idea anyway.

I think it's new (at least for some units). I love using my armoured train, and I would've noticed it. Just saw this kind of "overlay" error (with the arm. train) in the Panzerkrieg/04_Sevastopol mission and that's something new. I guess it could be connected with the ongoing problems with the shader model (?)

It's possible that I missed a few units with noEditor trait in the game. I should have used my mod for place all units in the editor. Maybe I still find a few more.

Since 5.2.9 the Brit paras have been replaced by numbers in the Editor (sniffle).
I can still select them and place them on the map but there's just a blank placeholder instead of their pic and name (blub).

It looks like I only missed following units/models with the layer-bug:

Maybe we are going to find another bugger during playing. Gosh, I should really spend more time playing the game! :o
