Up(down)grading

If unit is upgraded on the battlefield it will gain replacements to its full strength as well. Same goes for downgrading, or in other words, detaching transports. In MP infantry and towed anti-tank guns would get transports in early game to reach some location faster. Afterwards it is useful to detach transport to free up more Command Points. If unit has just retreated from the battle and it is under 5 strength downgrading it will bring replacements to full 10 strength unit. Replacements are paid in Resource Points unless player is out of RP. In that case downgrading and subsequent replacements are for FREE!

I knew about this one, however I do not downgrade my units. I usually just do not upgrade during the deployment phase, but rather on the battlefield. Upgrading a unit indeed repairs the unit to full strength and the cost comes with a discount. Many people forget that you can upgrade your unit anywhere on the battlefield as long as the unit is supplied.

I'm still waiting on the feature where we will be able to buy transports separately and attach / detach transports as leaders. It would take care of this exploit as well.

Didn't know about this being doable during downgrading, neither. But then again, don't know if I ever actually did downgrade an unit. And with replacements for free? Good tip, have to try it sometimes. Thanks.
