As I battle my way through DLC East 1942 I noticed the amount of heroes awarded were low, as compared with 1941... But as I started the first scenario in 1943, I noticed that 90% of my units taking a shot, be it infantry, tanks, etc. suddenly are rewarded with a hero. With whatever result of 0, +1, +2, etc of the predicted outcome.
I saved each outcome and then played the same turn about 10 times to check - with each time the same result, though with differing heroes awarded. I ended up with 14 heroes rewared in one (the first) turn
Obviously having to do with differing settings, but which ones?

For the first 4 years..1939-1942 1st heroes are distributed 100-300 kills
In 1943 -45 it is lowered to 1-300 kills, this is to take into account new units that are being purchased or rewarded and being utilized in these latter years.

Regardless though you will not get 2nd hero until you have 301 -1000 kills
and 3rd hero at 1001 kills-2000 kills

#rd heroed units are beasts and fun to play with as many of my SE Tiger's have 3 heroes by the end of 1943, but they are racking up massive kills since I am playing on Manstein level

It seems recon Rudel NEVER gets another hero no matter the kill #. It would be nice to get a +3 attack hero.

That is not true.

Night Phoenix was able to get a 2nd hero on his recon rudel, before I helped him figure out the idea that using him is not a good idea

Why is using recon Rudel a bad idea and what do you replace him with ? I was going try to farm an A+3 for him.

Going to take a stab in that his second-coming is as an entirely new unit without any experience or heroes carried over from the original recon version of himself.

Oh you can use recon rudel all you want I just find him incredibly vulnerable, and I would rather farm a +1 Spotting on a recon or infantry to change into a Kradschutzen, that I find is a better friend in the recon, need to see things realm.

Same for me: too vulnerable, I sell first Rudel as soon as 2nd one appears. And never use it so others can gain experience.
