(A) 2nd moves
Is the following legal:
LH (4 bases 2 deep) with general attached moves 7 MU straight ahead, turns 90 degrees, then does a second move 7 MU straight ahead?

If so, what about a battleline of 3 LH battlegroups (each 4 bases 2 deep) with a general attached - could they also move, turn, and move again provided the general is attached all the time and the second move is a simple advance?

(B) Commander moves
In other rule sets, a commander ony moves once per turn even if there is a special phase for commandr movement. In FoG, can a commander move twice in a turn if the second time is during the Joint Action Phase?

(A) Yes that is OK. Not for the Battleline though as a Battleline cannot turn 90 degrees, that has to be done by individual BGs.

(B) A commander can actually move 3 times - twice in the Manoeuve Phase and again in the JAP.

It depends on what you define as a 'turn' but there is a very good argument that a commander can move 4 times in a turn.

Your movement phase
Second move in your movement phase
Your JAP
Your opponents JAP

The long and short of it is that commanders don't hang about.

Although this could equally apply to their death rate in FOG too!! :)
