Favourite Scenarios

I purchased PzC Gold and I'm trying to find a scenario I really like.

In AG, I play Pskov endlessly and in PG, Byelorussia is my favourite.

I tried to locate a thread with players favourite scenario, but no joy.

Are there scenarios similar to ones I mentioned, or do you have a favourite?

I've got the same problem mate, I bought PC Gold last year and most of the scens are too big and fiddly for my taste, (so are the Campaigns) so I've started building my own scens in the Editor. For example I recently built 'Paradrop' and am having great fun playing it, your Brit paras land randomly scattered all over the map and you have to pull them together into killer groups to go hunting jerry while he's hunting you.
Hey is it possible for me to send Paradrop in an email attachment to anybody who wants it?
And if anybody else builds smallish scens we could send them to each other for fun..:)

Catupload gave a message that it only works with Facebook but I'm not on Facebook.
Can't I simply send you the pzscn and pzloc files in an email attachment or something?

Personal favorites include the Demyansk Pocket (GC 41), Prokhorovka (GC 43), Korsun Pocket (GC 44) and Vilna (GC 44). Admittedly, these are in the context of a campaign & not as a stand alone scenario situation.

It is easy to transfer these scenarios out of the campaigns to play as stand alone scenarios. (Demyansk Pocket (GC 41), Prokhorovka (GC 43), Korsun Pocket (GC 44) and Vilna (GC 44))

Go to the data file of the scenario you want and copy the two files pzscn and pzloc.

eg Korsun.pczn and Korsun.pzloc.

Paste them them in the original PzC or AK data file that contain files with similar extensions (pzscn and pzloc)

Now I just rename these to any of the original files.

eg delete original Poland.pczn and Poland.pzloc and rename the files copied from the other data file.

Korsun.pczn --> Poland.pczn
Korsun.pzloc --> Poland.pzloc

These new will show up as Poland when you launch PzC and go to the scenario list. When when you launch the scenario they will play as the new scenario.

I just replace scenarios I don't like with ones I do. :D

Adding the files and not renaming them doesn't work.

My favorite is Reykyavik, because it is the only one that has the Bismark in it and I suggested that during the beta :-).

Reykyavik?

Couldn't find it in the PzC Gold files.

Where is it located?

Is there any easy way to play these single scenarios without playing the campaign?

The only method I have figured out is transferring the files and renaming them as described earlier.

The file location layout is a mystery to me too mate because the scen files seem to be scattered around in different locations.
All I know is that I copy them into Documents> MyGames> PzCorps> Scenario, which now looks like this below (with the pzloc files not displayed to reduce clutter), and simply access the scens via the 'Custom' tab on the game's opening screen, there's a total of 145 scens in there so far.
EDIT- I just copied Reykjavik into there too and it seems to play fine even though I never renamed it, so why are some guys saying we have to rename them?

But playing the campaign is much more interesting. :)

Up to a point yes, I've played the Camps and got about halfway in each before getting a headache and seeing red and green spots before the eyes..:)
Burn me at the stake for saying so, but I prefer short sharp quick-moving single scenarios that can be played in an hour or two slotted in between TV shows like 'When Ghosts Attack'' and "Women on Death Row" because I play wargames the same way as I make love- quickly, brutally, decisively!

I was renaming the files because I didn't know about the location and setup of the scenario folder which was accessed through the main game menu via CUSTOM.

However, I now suspect you can change the default campaign scenarios by changing the PZLOC and PZSCN files within the campaign and renaming the scenarios, thus you can change the campaign tree.

I did that in PGF because I didn't like Norway, Lowlands and France and substituted some African and Eastern Front scenarios into the campaign.

Returning to the topic 'Favourite Scenarios', I recommend "Kampinoska Forest", I just finished playing it for the first time and rate it 10 out of 10 which is high praise indeed from an old miseryguts like me!
It's a nice smallish Poland Sept '39 battle, I found it in Slitherine> PanzerCorps> DLC> GC39> Data
and simply copied its two pzscn and pzloc files into Documents> Mygames> PanzerCorps> Scenario without any name changing or anything,
then booted up and started it via the 'Custom' tab on the opening screen..:)

I agree that the campaigns do get to be a slog. When you get to having to move 50+ units for 20+ turns, while the AI moves 150+ (at least over the course of the game) the turns do get quite long and it does get a tad tedious. However, if you like relatively small and short scenarios, I'd suggest you try Battle Academy if you haven't already. As it's also a Slitherine/Matrix title, I'm sure they'd be happy if you have both. I enjoy both games a lot but I like to go to BA when time is short and I want some quick actions and just don't feel like wading through the continual Russian onslaught.
