The Effects of Losing a General

My apologies if this has already been asked. In the manual under 10.3 it indicates that when a general is killed units within 1 0 2 squares of the general depending on his rank have to take a cohesion test. Is there any other effect on units or the army. We played Alesia, and Caesar was routed off the map and my friend thought it impacted the efficiency of the remaining Romans. In our current game, he just lost a leader in combat, not sure if he was a subordinate or the overall commanding general so curious if they effect his army for the rest of the battle. Thanks.

Unless you’re playing “Remove the Head” mode (game ends when C-in-C dies), losing a general leads to a cohesion test for nearby units on the event of the death. There is no global/persistent negative modifier. Though the side that lost a General(s) will have more troops out of command and control and will be less maneuverable.

I don't see the Remove the Head option under settings and preferences. Where do I find it? Thanks.

Nope. It’s a custom battle mode.
