Ok based on some of the topics being discussed on this forum I see the need for this debate in the forum and would love to hear others thought's on what they do.

So you receive Albert in the 39 Campaign in a Czech Pz38(t)
You are stuck with him in this tank until the Pz 3 comes out in Norway, or until the Pz 4 comes out in France in 1940 Grand Campaign.

I have always waited to upgrade Albert Kerscher to a Pz 4D in Grand Campaign 1940, but I saw Night Phoenix convert him to a Pz 3.

What do most players do?

1) Wait, like me, to convert to a Panzer 4. (I do this because I see Pz 4's having the best, and longest upgrade path.) I still have him in Pz 4 waiting for King Tiger in 1944 to update him into something monstrous)

2) Upgrade him as soon as you can to a Panzer 3, as Night Phoenix did. If so why? Do you like their upgrade path better than the 4 path? (Night Phoenix still has him in Pz3 at the end of 1943, I am not sure if he is waiting for King Tiger or plans on keeping him in Pz 3 for the remainder of the game. I believe he will reconsider that once he sees IS-1's or 2's.)

3) Leave Albert in the Czech tank until you can upgrade them into a Tiger.

Let me know your thoughts

Heinz Rondorf is for another post...

Panzer 3 asap then tiger then king tiger.
his +2 spotting gives him a visual range of +4. this is awsome and means you dont need to deploy a scout car usually. plus with the lates panzer 3 stats in addition he can be in the thick of all the action or even at the very front, do lots of damage with those latest P3 tank stats. It is like having two units ( a scout car and a serious tank rolled into one) so you can effectively deploy an 'extra' unit. I have an 'SE panzer only' policy so on a scenario I could have 8 SE panzers (too many!) deployed but I would deploy him as well instead of a scout car. He is the only NON-SE TANK that I bring to the (one of the 9) gc west path regardless of how good the heroes or other stats on my tanks are.

In current PzC rules you can "upgrade" Pz 38 (t) to Maus Tank :)
