Refilled units in campaign look not refilled

Sorry maybe you know this.
When I move to next battles in campaigns, the units seem to remain unfilled in the graphics while the # of troops in the info panel shows the units at full strength.
Maybe it only happens occasionally or something.
Here is a picture with 3 units together during deployment that are looking unfilled but have full numbers in the info.
Thank you for looking at this. The campaign is a good design and battles are fun.

This is perfectly normal, and is working as designed.
Your units have taken casualties in previous battles, and so are below their full normal strength. Therefore they have fewer figures in their formation. Each figure represents a fixed number of men. Normally 60 infantry men, but in the Hannibal campaign, which I think is the one you are playing, it is 300 infantrymen per figure. So the unit that you have highlighted has 1220 men, which equates to 5 figures.
The numbers in the UI show:
The current men in the unit/The number of men in the unit at the
start of the battle
This is where you are getting confused, the number displayed to the right of the slash is not the normal maximum strength of the unit. If it was, the unit would already be way under it's Autobreak threshold!

Thank you Paul. That is good to know.
Yes it is the Hannibal campaign.
So to have the units refilled, I would have to leave more units with the garrison force before battle to make points? (or try not to get so beat up in battle of course)

Yes, that might work in some circumstances, especially if you have just taken heavy losses in a battle. Of course, there maybe times when, depending upon the strategic choices, you just do not get any replacements for your field army at all.

If you take the option to get troops from your local allies, you get more points of reinforcements overall, but your main army units do not get refilled.
So to get them refilled, take the "reinforcements from home" option. You will get less points of reinforcements overall, but some of these will automatically be used to refill your existing units. (Unless there aren't enough reinforcement points to fully do this, in which case they will be refilled to the extent that the available points allow).
As Paul has pointed out, units that start the battle below their normal full strength are treated as if the strength they started the battle with is their full strength for morale purposes, so their fighting power is reduced but their morale is not.

Thanks, that helps. I was taking allied reinforcements every time so I realize that's why must stuff wasn't refilling. Maybe that is why my precious African units were being seen off so easily cause of low troop numbers.
