The end-of-year FoG Rankings have now been published on the BHGS website.

In 2017 there were 13 FoG:R competitions across the UK, attracting 72 players, including 13 new players with no prior "2016" ranking.

Thirty of these attended more than one event (some of them managing as many as 10!). In all there were 167 entries across all the competitions, making FoGR the 4th most widely played mass-battle ruleset featured in the BHGS roster in 2017.

Competition was fierce with the 17 first podium positions (when taking doubles and multi-pool events into consideration) split between 12 different players.

Congratulations to Keith Spedding for topping the rankings and Stephen Stead and Simon LeRay-Mayer for taking the other podium places.

How do I get them to list me as "Wessex Wargames Society" rather than "Mercenary"?

ADLG currently has around 160 active players who’ve entered at least 1 event in the last 12 months, with FoGAM and DBMM both at around 80 each based on the latest published rankings for each set. So it’s currently a close call for third place !

Brendan Morrissey. There are a few other Wessex players also listed as "Mercenary" for some reason, despite having only ever entered as Wessex.

David Edwards
Paul Marsh
David Eggleston
David Hewkin
Patrick Morrissey
Steve Basting

Tim,

David Burrows and Bruce Rollett are both members of the Oxford Club so should be shown as Oxford.

Should all be updated

Is Wessex Wargames Society the same as "Wessex", or is there a bit of the old Peoples Front Of Judea malarkey going on down in the dice-rolling world of deepest Wessex?

Confusingly there are the "Wessex Wargamers of Winchester", also based in Hampshire, but the Wessex Wargames Society has been going for a wee bit longer just having hit the 50th anniversary mark.

All the people I've listed, plus those already marked "Wessex" are from our club (so no splitters!).

Thanks for making the changes, Mr Axeman.
