Aloha
I have a bad experience when scrolling a map, it's very jerkey and hurts the eyes. Also pointer is kinda slow. I have Nvidia 8000 Gm force.
I have a new computer running Vista and I also updated all drivers and DirectX10
Thank you.

It sounds like the cideo card isn't properly using the vertical sync. You should check in the card control panel (Right click the desktop -> Properties -> Settings tab ->Advanced, then look for the card tab) that vsync is turned on. That should fix the problem.

Thank you for res[ponse. I have Vista and NVidia and it seems even after I put Vsync on Force on, it didn't fix the problem. Also AI between turns runs quite slow.

muko, click on downloads at the top of the screen here at the forums, the grey words in the top line up there.
When you get to the downloads page, scroll waaaaay down past all the Commander stuff and there are Vista Patches for Gates of Troy and Spartan.
If you haven't installed the appropriate one of these, that is possibly the issue
I'm not sure which game you have, Spartan or GoT, but I own both. I still play and mod them passionately nearly 3 years after my initial purchase, sometimes losing a whole day to my dreams of the ancient world. These are just superb games in their genre, some of Slitherine's best work ever, IMO.
Feel free to PM me if you have questions or want to discuss the game.

Hmm, I guess it helped?

It didn't help at all. If I didn't have that file you suggested, I couldn't play the game at first place.
Still have bumpy/jaggedly scrolling. I have Nvidia graphics.
Also I found out that new units supposedly available in Troy are not there. I played for Dardaanians and none of their units were available.
Is there any other Mod other than Crete available?
Thank you.

You could try running in a window. Go into the DATA directory in the install directory for the game and open/create USER.TXT
Then add the line
FULLSCREEN 0
to the file, save and run the game. It won't fill the screen unfortunately, but it might shed some light on the problem.
Cheers
