land comat calculations

Just purchase the game. Currently I'm playing the tutorial to get a feel for the game, just moving units around , attacking ,etc.

I know it's probably not necessary to know all of the "under the hood" calculations performed for combat resolution. I was wondering if anyone could explain how the Unit attributes are used in land combat resolution. An example of land combat (clear terrain, no attack / armor penalties) of Infantry vs Infantry, Infantry vs Armor, and Armor vs Armor would be greatly appreciated.

Just curious about how the attributes of strength, effectivness, survivability, AT bonus, attack and defence values, etc. are used to determine combat results. I apoligize ahead of time is this topic was already covered.

I think it's all in the manual?

I'd say the manual presents an overview of unit attributes and combat. But it doesn't give any actual examples of how the attributes are factored in combat resolution. Remember the old SSG game manuals that contained those "convoluted" algerbraic formuals that showed how combat results were determined?

For example, I don't think the manual states that strength determines the amount of "shots" a unit has during a round of combat. I found that piece of information either on this forum or the Matrix forum. The same for AT value, I think the way that attribute is used was discussed on this forum.

As I said, I probably don't need this info to play the game (I'm playing it now, & I'm having a blast), I was just hoping someone could provide a couple of examples showing how the various attributes are used. AFAIK, the manual does not include specific examples of combat.
