King of the Hill Open Ladder 320 BC

Become King of the hill by fighting a few or more battles. Beating an opponent makes him your ally and makes him give up his old master if he had one. The goal is to become master of all. Armies beaten by your ally are friendly to you too and accept you as the highest in rank. All battles have pot luck terrain and are with very large forces on very wide maps, and with Remove the Head victory conditions. Losing the Commander means all alliances you had because of earlier wins are forfeit. It opens a window of opportunity for earlier beaten armies. Your opponent by killing you, does only get your successor as an ally.

Before each new round of battles the armies are sorted by size, each ally and ally of an ally increases the size of the empire. Then the E-W position is used if empires have the same size. The army at the bottom fights against the army above it in that list not being an ally or the ally of an ally. The next free army on the list follows the same procedure. So the big empires fight each other while the smaller armies try to rebuild their empires, till fate gives them a new opportunity. It also makes that small armies have to defeat the smaller allies of big empires before they can become King of the hill.

I want to start with armies of 320 BC, and I claim the Romans for myself.

Thanks for joining, it's kind of an open ladder system with Swiss pairings. There is no set number of players. They can join even after it has started. To start having 8 players would be nice.

We have 4 players and can start already. The armies and their commanders are:
1/4 Gallic 390 Stimovsky
2/4 Roman 340 Hendricus
3/4 Macedon 320 devoncop
4/4 Antigonid 320 Cunningcairn

So from the Eastern bottom to the Western top we get the following battles.
Antigonid 320 Cunningcairn - Macedon 320 devoncop
Roman 340 Hendricus - Gallic 390 Stimovsky
First named sets up the custom battle, remove the head, very large force, very wide map, pot luck terrain, auto force selection. ( after mass request we do default forces)

Name it King of the Hill and use a password, use this thread to reveal it. Else others can pick up the battle.
I set up the battle and use password: classic

Yes and welcome, we just started the first round, so you have to wait till we start 319 BC. Alexander died a few years before so the Lysimachid are one of the many Diadochi, the Antigonid(Cunnincairn) and Macedonians(devoncop) the others at the moment. The system is flexible, so no worries you missed a round. In the end there can be only one King on top of the Hill. You probably face another upstart or one of the losers of the first battles. The winners have already bigger Empires of course.

Instead of Auto we do Default forces, before an uprising happens. So commanders can finetune their troop composition.
