The rather irritating odd cost of a TC

I was trying to work out why I cant get my lists to exactly 800 - alway 801 or 797.
Then I had it - the only odd number you can put into your list is an odd number of TCs.
In any future revision (I know - years away) can we have the TCs costing 34 or 36 so we dont end up with odd numbers in the army total which you cannot adjust away with the structure of BGs and the army as a whole.

A good way around this problem is to make it 800 points + the cost of the cheapest element in the army. Worked fine in 7th.

Brilliant if you take Ilkhanids, with 12 points the cheapest, or one of the Sarmatian types that only needs to have Armd Cv Lancers at, can't remember how many, points

If I'm worrying about not being able to use 0.5% to 1% of the available points them I'm worrying about the wrong things and should be looking for concerns elsewhere

I agree it can be a touch irritating but it only results in an odd total if you have one or three TCs. If TC's cost say 36 points each there would still be grumbling from players with 100YW armies where they don't have a multiple of 4 longbowmen with portable defences as it would be impossible toget to 800 points with them as well.

Last night I used an army that was only 798 points, I got a losing draw, it had nothing to do with the 'missing' 2 points

You had a full one point more than me, 797, AND your guys were using more than tissue paper for a shield

it just irritates my sense of neatness - I was driving in to work and couldnt work out why I always ended up 1 point over.

ill just charge myself 36 points per TC, then I will feel better :)

I didnt with HYW in the same way - ahh stakes, thats another odd number bit.

I know it is seriously unimportant, but I hate having those 3 points lurking

Darn so that excuse is out of the window then

Still a long way to go to beat the 400 point DBM army Mr Ruddock worked out for his opponent in a club game. The next day he mailed me this wonder list and when I fixed the errors in the formulae in the spreadsheet it turned out to be 503 points

I find msome army lists work out better at 795-799 than fudging the list to get to 800.

Or use Arabic HF/LF troops, that way you can account for the odd point.

Going out is far too dangerous

I spent this morning held by the Police in a Tesco carpark after an armed robbery in the notorious gheto of Tring.

Im staying in doors and worrying about 3 pts on my army.

Good point on the Arabs and such, any 9 base BG with average light foot as a supporting rank would have the same 'issue'. Also front rank light spear sword, rear rank bow in BGs of 6.

There are a few cases where that odd point gets used.
