I got a decompression error #2026 when I tried to install the 1.15 Update and Immortal Fire. I uninstalled the game and tried to reinstall but got the same error message. The game not open. Please advise!

try a different download do make sure it's not corrupt and when you save it, make sure its not on the desktop, as unless you unpack / install as admin, you may not have the right permissions on the desktop so elsewhere is always recommend

Also check that your antivirus/firewall isn't blocking it.

The game was working fine yesterday. The exe file for the original game will not install. I'm getting the same error message whether I try "Run as Administrator" or not.

It is probably your antivirus or firewall program that is blocking the installation.

I hoped reinstalling the whole game would clear up the decompression error. I'm not getting an indication the my firewall is blocking anything. I was able to download the files involved without a problem. The error occurs when I try to install everything.

so more than likely a anti virus or permissions issue
How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:
1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.
once the report has been made, just attach it to your post with first adding the file to a zip, which is then permitted to attach to the forum
a report will give me the information on what versions o/s etc your running and any errors in it, then if you can say either here or in pm, the anti virus you use and i;ll talk you through on how to give the patch and exe the correct permissions for it to run, without disabling the product, eg adding to the safe or white list etc for the Anti Virus you are using and maybe having issues with etc
