Campaign Editor issues

It looks like branching is not working properly.
The setup below is picked up from the old data.cmp file. Branching worked in v4, the player could select between the Danzig North and Danzig South scenarios.
In v5.2.1 the campaign picks the top scenario, Danzig North. No player choice.

I guess this went under the radar as no official campaigns use branching between scenarios to my knowledge.

The Core tab label on the bottom looks a bit messy.

Edit: Adding a core needs to display all flags in a better way.

Variables tab.
We need a branch scrolling bar.
A certain designer needs more room. This particular campaign has more than 80 scenarios :D

I hate to be a fly on the wall / in the ointment, but I think we are going to be seeing some complaints about continuity of old DLC. For example, I had trouble nuking my way through Rising Sun the other day, looking at other stuff. Your post here brings that back to mind.

This takes time, even just nuking through. Proposal: If you take the first four on this list (Kriegsmarine through SinoJapWar), I'll do the last four (MarineCorps through Blitzkrieg) and we can post our results here. I figure Tutorial should be a no-brainer while Panzerkrieg was just developed using the new campaign editor, so that should be alright.

Deal?

[This presupposes that you have all official DLC up to this point. If not, PM me and I will take this down and we'll forget all about it. I will not speak a word to anyone.]

And I got through the last 4. It seems 5.2.2 makes a big difference in this regard.

I can't find any way to set the specialization points pr scenario in the campaign editor.
I loaded Panzerkrieg and checked, but there's nothing.
I guess this never came up because Panzerkrieg was created the old way using the data file?

There is some funny stuff regarding the Specialisation tab.

When I'm in the specialisation screen and clicks on the Cores tab, most of the tabs etc are cleared.
Clicking around in the specs tab may also provoke similar stuff.

5.2.3

Adding scenarios to a branch is currently limited to about 66 scenarios, sorted by creation date (?).
I think it would be better to present a simple list of scenarios sorted alphabetically and with a scroll-bar.
I also would like to see scenario names displayed using capital and small characters. Easier to read and does not take up as much space.
Right now I can't add more scenarios to my 90+ scenario Germany Grand Campaign (or replace the large Denmark scenario with to separate smaller scenarios).

Thanks
Erik

Take a look at any official or custom campaign folder. There's a .png file labeled image.

Haven't checked for this version but I bet you can find your second entry point. It is missing only visualy. If you know location of second scenario "selection circle" hover over there and it will show. It is a problem for general public but just mentioning it if you need to test something through it.

Take into account this iteration of campaign editor is in row state offering basic funcionality but as far as I know plan is to polish it in later iterations.

Erik what is the way you are doing conversion to new file type? Manualy or through automated process?

You can make backup of your campaign (just in case) go to campaign editor, hit files, load your old campaign and game will automaticly convert old CMP file to CMZ file.

All my campaigns including the Germany Grand was basically finished using the old txt-file system.
I used the campaign editor to edit the stratmap items; locations, arrows, flags. This is a zillion times easier and faster than dealing with the coordinate stuff.
But I've ran into a couple of snags when I want to expand on a campaign.
And yes, I know this editor is work-in-progress. That is why I try to locate any issues before the next beta starts.

Deleting Branches

There's a bug if you delete a branch near the bottom of the list.

I used my Sea Lion as a template (25+ scenarios).
After editing the 12 branches used in this new campaign I wanted to delete the old non-used branches.

1) Select Branch-27 and click on the red cross to delete.
2) Your left with only remnants of the Settings tabs.

Dialog boxes seem "transparent" in some situations like this one. Note that I had just been working on placing flag markers. Then I clicked settings, Alliances, and this button here to delete one of the alliances:

Doing so placed a corresponding flag marker directly underneath where I clicked:

I set this up as a clean example. Before I did so, I had been doing a good amount of work on alliances with the map open below and when I closed Alliances, I had British flags all over Europe.
