Today i went to my job sleepless but i do not regret it. I had one fantastic game with Schmolywar. In the end i was able to win it (57%vs61%) but i feel the need to admit that a draw would be a more fair result. Again, thanks for this amazing game.

The Turdetani then managed to defeat the Carthaginian army in Hispania, now the fate of Carthage in Hispania is in the hands of their Celtiberian allies, that will face your romans in the next round, so Schmolywar will have the chance of apply the tactics he has seen you use against you


So, the first point in round 1 goes to Rome, leading Carthage 1-0

Victory for the Insubres!

The superior warbands, massed in the center of the line, smashed the Roman battleline and punched a big hole, and despite a skillful defense by Devoncop making excellent use of light infantry in the rear, there was no comeback. In the end the Romans lost their head, some literally and fled the field

So, the Carthaginians level the score, it is now 1-1 in the first Round, the last match will be decisive for the round!

Now, for the Insubres, to the merry business of plundering and beheading Roman colonists

As Roman dead litter the battlefield the Senate is left to query the wisdom of expecting inexperienced Hastatii formations to stand up to hardened Warbands and to rue the lack of skirmishers on the Roman flank leaving the Italian foot defenceless against a hail of javelins and arrows.

Lessons will be learned but the easiest is not to underestimate the barbarian hordes for who knows if one day they could threaten Rome itself.......

The Carthaginians beat the Gallic 53-14.
Elephants had a major role in this battle, only 1 was lost.

The Romans were able to gain a small victory against the brave Spanish warriors (60% vs 49%). Thanks to Schmolywar for another nice game.

So, the Romans keep winning in Hispania, soon they will get all the Carthaginian possesions there.

The first point in the second round goes to Rome 1-0 Carthage

Another Roman (very narrow) win 62% to 56% to report, this time in Southern Italy.

Thanks to Aryaman who pushed Rome very close to defeat but the resilience of the Legions won out.

That is the second point in the round, meaning the second round is going to be Roman and the third round will be the definitive to decide which team, Rome or Carthage, wins the Second Punic War

Another Carthaginian win in this 2nd round.

With 3 commanders on each side and 3 battles meeting the same commander over and over is very historic. From a gamers point of view meeting all three opponents is nicer.

Well done Hendricus, unfortunately it is not enough to reverse the result of the round, so the second round goes to Rome 2-1
