Castulo 211 BC scenario

Here is another of my new scenarios that you can download from the in game "Download Community scenarios" button.

This was an encounter battle during Iberian campaign of the 2nd Punic War. It is a little known battle, but significant nonetheless, I won't say too much about it as I want the player to get some nasty surprises! It is playable from both sides, and at different difficulty levels, but is probably quite challenging either way.

I have overridden the normal godlike visibility in turn 1, and so half the map will be greyed out and you won't see where the enemy is. The scenario also starts at night, but soon gets light after about 4 turns. I have also put in a special script that reduces visibility during the night time turns.

I have made some adjustments to elephants in this scenario;

a) When an elephant unit routs, all friendly units within 3 squares suffer a cohesion test.

b) I have reduced elephant experience and elan levels to 0, from 100.

There are lots of new textures for units on both sides. Moorish Light javelinmen, Iberian Caetrati, Libyphoenician cavalry, Roman and Italian cavalry, Spanish cavalry, Ligurian infantry. A special credit is due to Little Big Men Studios for most of the new shield designs in this mod. Stephen Hales (of Little Big Men Studios) has given me permission to use these and no company may take these designs for use without his permission or for sale in any way.

I hope you enjoy it.

Look forward to giving this one a bash, sounds intriguing :D

BTW do you do requests? If so could I ask for Panion? Would involve a lot of speculation but Bar Kochva had a useful section on it in his book on the Seleukid army.

I will be busy for quite a while Nik, but maybe in a couple of months, fingers crossed!
