LC charges

Hi, I am confused about when a light cavalry unit is allowed to charge a heavier unit. In my last battle, I moved a light cavalry unit directly behind an enemy heavy infantry unit (right next to it) and turned it to face their rear, hoping to charge from the rear the next turn. The next turn I was told I could not charge it, but it wasn't in the zone of control of an enemy unit as far as I could see. it seems that light cavalry have to follow the same rules as light infantry?

Light cavalry can charge anyone, no restrictions. A screenshot would help to explain your situation.

There will be an explanation for this situation, but we would need a screenshot to determine what it is.

I thought LC had some restrictions charging heavy infantry, no frontal charges on steady units, etc.

Light infantry cannot charge non lights in open terrain, but light cav have no such restrictions
