Cheating in first tournament!

Just finished the second round of the first official tournament, been waiting all day for opponent to make his next play, I'm winning both rounds, then he posted his turns with only five minutes left on the clock!
So I can't break those units that are about to break, don't get the inevitable win in one game, or probable win in the other.
Seemed a friendly opponent chatting all week, then this?!
Not happy!!!
Used windows 10 screen record for the last few minutes in case, glad I did as I have proof.
Will try to post later as well as screenshots, have to go to work now. Which he also made me late for!
To make all aware of this cretin his username is;
MODERATED
Thanks a lot pal!

I doubt if this was deliberate cheating, as it did not improve his own score at all.
We may need to extend the "minimum turns for a full score" to match the Turn limit (i.e. 24 x 2 = 48), then in any game that times out the non-timed out player would get at least the Bye score. Anyway, it is under discussion at this end.
Thank you for drawing this issue to our attention.

Thanks for the reply, I agree he may not of helped his score but it stops him from losing outright and takes away a possible 120pts+ from my score. And for what? Coz he's a sore loser I guess. He didn't post a turn for nearly a full day, then suddenly with 5 mins to spare?!
Anyways glad you're looking into it. Cheers again.
Great game by the way

Screenshots of penultimate turn times and last, 3 seconds to play my last turn! Either way you look at it, that's pretty callous:

Accusing someone of 'cheating' who may just have a real life to attend to is perhaps a little strong. Please don't ever pick up one of my Pot Luck games.
That is all.

C'mon, he could of just not played that last round if that was the case. Obvious attempt to make me time out and so he get's the balance

The only reason he didn't is because I was waiting for his turn at the time. I have a life too, as evidenced by the fact I had to play both sides with four and a half minutes to go, so I ended up late for work! So no, not a little strong. Check the times of my last turn and how much time he had left to play, the evidence speaks for itself. It's blind luck I had the three seconds for the last turn.

I think you misunderstand timing out. The person who times out is not the person who did not play the last turn, it is the person who had the game in his in-tray for the longest total time over the whole course of the round. (This is stated in the tournament rules).
Obviously it would be abusable if the last person to play a turn timed the other player out, which is why it is based on the total time spent not on who played the last turn.

Righto. Still hardly right though. What about taking turns regular, completing game (benefits both) especially while joining a tourney, still had to rush my last turn, ballsed up my final score and made me late. Still could of just not played his turn. He didn't let me know he was going to do this or say sorry, explain or nothing. Plus we were having a good game up till then, feel a tad betrayed or at least hoodwinked to be honest. Why people just can't play a game properly is beyond me.

"could of" have no meaning. You write it a lot.

Interesting. I am currently waiting for my opponent to log on. I currently have him at 63% casualties and should have a win with about 7 hours to go in the tournament. Sure hope this is not some new 'strategy'.
Of course I have had problems with my internet as well, living in the wilds of Alaska as I do.

In miniature tournaments this was known as the 'bathroom' strategy, where you would be in the lead, and just before the last turn when you could get a clear win.....
They would head off to the bathroom for 20 minutes.

If you have him at 63% then the system should already have scored your game as if you had won, unless he plays his turn and something rallies. (For this very reason).
Are you playing under a different login? I can't see your username in the first tournament

I simply like to finish what I start. OCD in that way. He never did log on again. I am in the Fringe tournament, starting to play with Ggarynorman.
