any way of removing the startup splash screen?

Find a file named "FIELDOFGLORY2.EXE" in the game installation folder and create a shortcut icon for that file in your desktop.
Start the game from that desktop icon.
This only works for the stand alone version of the game, not for the Steam one.

thanks vpaulus (sorry to hear about that stalingrad thing, bummer dude) but I'm already invoking the exe directly. I meant removing the branding splash that displays prior to the main screen loading. It's only a few seconds but I am frequently accessing the game each day for mp.

Removing it won't make the game load any faster. Its only there to disguise the fact the game is loading a whole load of stuff and so takes a while to open the main screen. Removing it will just give you a black screen instead and provide no feedback that the game is loading ..

just on a quest for efficiency. That question has now been resolved - thanks!
